Post-doctoral position is available at the Virology Department in the Institute for integrative biology of the cell (Gif sur Yvette in the Paris-Saclay University)

A 3-year post-doctoral position is available in our team (Rhabdoviruses, led by Yves Gaudin).
Our team is part of the Virology Department in the Institute for integrative biology of the cell, a Research Institute dedicated to fundamental cellular biology located on the CNRS campus of Gif sur Yvette in the Paris-Saclay University. Technical support is provided by several state-of-the-art core facilities including imaging, mass spectrometry, electron microscopy, cytometry and genomics.

The project has received funding from the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale. It aims to characterize the cytoplasmic viral factories formed during rabies virus infection, that have liquid organelle properties, and their interactions with the innate immune system components.

Applicants for this position should have strong knowledge and expertise in cellular biology, protein biochemistry and molecular biology. An experience in virology, particularly in the field of host-virus interactions, will be an asset but is not an absolute requirement.

Main activities will be: live imaging (including FRAP), cellular virology, recombinant protein expression, protein complex purification, proximity labeling (BioID and TurboID) and characterization by mass spectrometry. Genetic screens are also envisaged.

The postdoc candidate has recently obtained a PhD and has strong interest and a proven track record of achievement in protein biochemistry as well as in molecular and cellular biology. Motivated candidates which have previous experience with either confocal imaging, live imaging, genetic screens, minimal system in vitro reconstitution, are especially encouraged to apply. The position is available starting after september 2021.
