The Society of Therapeutic Chemistry (SCT), the French Society of Virology (SFV) and the Institut Pasteur are jointly organizing a symposium entitled:
New antiviral strategies: from bench to bedside at the Institut Pasteur in Paris on April 19, 2023.
The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that a multidisciplinary approach to scientific research is essential for the development of new therapies. This theme is in full expansion, and during this day we will have conferences from internationally renowned experts. The aim is to bring together two communities of researchers through conferences and while leaving an important part to exchanges.
The Society of Therapeutic Chemistry (SCT) is an association of academics and industrialists which aims to promote medicinal chemistry, chemical biology and drug discovery activities. The French Society of Virology (SFV) has a network of more than 1000 virologists who spans from basic research to translational and clinical virology. The Institut Pasteur is a research institute, at the heart of future progress in science, medicine and public health, deciphering the fundamental mechanisms at the basis of life, advances scientific knowledge and leads to cutting-edge medical applications.
We would like to invite you as speaker and to participate to the emergence of projects at the interface of Virology and Medicinal Chemistry.
We are finalising the program based on the following themes that will be addressed consecutively by 2 speakers with a virology approach and a medicinal chemistry approach:
Session 1 – Viruses as targets
RNA as a target
DNA as a target
Targeting the entry mechanisms of viruses
Session 2 -The host as a target
Immunity
Vaccines and new developments
Epitranscriptomics
Emergence, identification and detection
