Call for New Junior and/or Senior Group Leaders, Institute for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases of Toulouse (Infinity), France

Infinity is a dynamic research institute focused on inflammatory and infectious diseases, affiliated
with the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm), the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), and the University of Toulouse. Infinity comprises 14 teams, including 3 ATIPAvenir and 1 ERC laureate (see https://www.infinity.inserm.fr/en/ for more details). Infinity is located in Toulouse, a lively and fast-growing city in the Southwest of France with the 2
nd largest student population.


Research themes at Infinity range from autoimmune and allergic diseases to host-pathogen
interactions (viruses and parasites), immune system development and senescence, neurodegenerative diseases, immunotherapies. The location of Infinity on a hospital campus creates a stimulating and favorable environment to perform fundamental as well as translational research.


We are seeking up to two outstanding group leaders at the junior and/or senior level. All
projects in line with Infinity’s research axes are welcome. Projects focusing on computational biology, translational research and/or human immunology may be given additional consideration. Infinity is committed to achieving gender balance and applications from women are strongly encouraged.


Applicants can be of any nationality.


The selected candidate(s) will benefit from office and laboratory space as well as access to on-site
state-of-the-art core facilities (flow cytometry, imaging, immunomonitoring, NGS, histopathology, BSL2 animal facility equipped with behavioral platform). Other cutting-edge facilities are accessible through an integrated local network of platforms (http://www.genotoul.fr/). Junior candidates should be eligible for start-up programs such as ERC Starting/Consolidator Grant, ATIP-Avenir, or equivalent. Support will be provided to obtain research funding, which will be a prerequisite for joining Infinity as a group leader.
Depending on the amount of secured funding, the selected candidate(s) will be allocated additional resources to facilitate integration.
